It was a sea of red on Friday the 28th October at the 12th Annual Day for Daniel, hosted by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
Attended by many esteemed politicians and public figures, including Act for Kids Ambassador Kay McGrath and football legend Petero Civoniceva.
Now grandparents, Bruce and Denise Morcombe were joined by thousands of people for the Annual Walk for Daniel in Woombye on the Sunshine Coast. Leading the walk was Daniels twin brother Brad and wife Anna with their three-month-old Winston Daniel George Morcombe.
Walking with them was Act for Kids CEO Dr Neil Carrington, who looks forward to the event every year.
Its such an important reminder of the work that we are all doing in the child safety and child protection space. I am so proud to be working alongside Bruce and Denise to get this message out to our kids, Neil said.
This year there was a record 2,470 schools who held their own Day for Daniel, up 30 per cent from last year and 50 per cent on two years ago. Across Australia, thats one million children who received a lesson on being safe.
