Act for Kids Chief Executive Officer, Doctor Katrina Lines, is thrilled to announce the appointment of two new Executive Directors to our Executive Leadership Team.
Both appointments have been filled by two of our long-term dedicated team members, who have a combined tenure of over 20 years, and more than 40 years industry experience.
Doctor Kaye Pickering has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Services. Kaye has more than 20 years’ experience as a clinical psychologist and has been an invaluable member of the Act for Kids team since 2006. Prior to her newest appointment, Kaye held the position of Director of Therapy Services, a role that deemed her responsible for overseeing Act for Kids’ services nationally, providing leadership and support to the philanthropically funded Integrated Therapy Services in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Throughout Kaye’s tenure she has set up the Labrador centre on the Gold Coast and developed multiple programs to help children and families. Kaye was also the leading force behind the implementation of the Queensland Government’s Helping Out Families Initiative program for ten years.
Tom McIntyre will assume the newly created role of Executive Director of Services Strategy and Growth. Tom has been a well-respected member of the Act for Kids family since 2015 where he began his journey as a Regional Director. Over the past 18 months Tom has been working in the role as National Education Director within the Public Affairs, Partnerships and Advocacy team. One of Tom’s most recent achievements was the launch of Act to Educate and the Act for Kids Academy, an online training platform for employers to learn to identify the signs of child abuse and neglect. Tom comes to the newly created role of Executive Director of Service, Strategy and Growth with a background in child protection and working as a Child Safety Manager for more than 25 years.
