Zarraffa’s Coffee has supported and raised money for Act for Kids since 2009. This year alone they have donated almost $8,000 from their mobile coffee caddy program, offering freshly made, store quality coffee at events with 100% of the drink proceeds going to their chosen charities and to the not-for-profit Zarraffa’s Foundation.

Each year Zarraffa’s Coffee supports our National Child Protection Week activities, and in 2013 made a $10,000 donation directly to our Twinkle Twinkle campaign.

“We’ve enjoyed a long association with Act for Kids and this year wanted to contribute to their brand new Twinkle Twinkle initiative on behalf of our entire group of stores,” said Zarraffa’s Coffee Executive Director, James Barritt.

“The work that Act for Kids tirelessly undertakes for some of our community’s most vulnerable members deserves high praise and we applaud their team.”

Zarraffa’s Coffee also helped raise awareness of the campaign in all of their east coast stores, asking people to lend their voice and sing a lullaby for a child who has never heard one. Some of their expert baristas and their giraffe mascot ‘Ziggy’ even recorded a nursery rhyme and uploaded it to our twinkletwinkle.org site.

Act for Kids CEO, Dr Neil Carrington, said long-term supporters are critical to Act for Kids’ ability to help more children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse and neglect.

“It’s an honour to work so closely with committed individuals and businesses like Zarraffa’s Coffee to ensure their fundraising and donations are directed where they’re needed most. Generous, ongoing support like this means we can plan ahead to expand our services and reach out to more kids and families who need our help,” Dr Carrington said.
