Julie has dedicated her career to supporting families and improving outcomes for children across Queensland. She joined Act for Kids in 2015 as the Program Manager for the Townsville Intensive Family Support Service, where she worked closely with families facing complex challenges.

Her deep commitment to evidence-informed practices and promoting child safety led to her appointment as Director of Family Support Services in 2022. In this role, Julie oversees the Intensive Family Support Services (Northern) and Functional Family Therapy programs, ensuring families receive the support they need to create safe and nurturing environments for their children.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Human Resource Management, Julie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work. Over her 20-year career, she has held various roles across both statutory and non-statutory child protection systems, gaining a deep understanding of the lasting impact of abuse and neglect on children’s wellbeing.
