Pathways to Early Learning and Development (PELD)

wave

The PELD program is an integrated, multi-disciplinary service that offers additional support to families that are currently involved with our Intensive Family Support (IFS) service, through an early childhood, supported playgroup model. This program is staffed by Early Childhood Educators, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists in all regions.

How we can help

The program is based on the evidence-based Abercedarian Approach (3A), which aims to enrich caregiving through educational games that emphasise language development and cognitive skills in children aged 0-5 yrs. The PELD program also provides additional early learning support through home visiting for families to generalise positive parent-child learning opportunities in the home and develop a strong knowledge of appropriate developmental expectations.  The PELD program also supports families to establish relationships with local early childhood education centres and schools to ensure a smooth transition to generic early childhood and education settings.
