Counselling and Intervention Service (CIS)
Our Counselling Intervention Service is delivered by Psychologists and Social Workers who specialise in working with children and young people who have experienced harm or neglect.
This comprehensive counselling service accommodates children and young people aged 0-17 years, and their carers/family. A referral from Child Safety Services is required for this program. This service is available for children and families within the Townsville and Brisbane region.
Our CIS team are trauma specialists who work with children and their families to help them resolve trauma, and achieve their goals for their future and wellbeing.

Goals often include:
- learning protective behaviours
- addressing traumatic experiences
- repairing family relationships and supporting reunification.
Our friendly team is able to help all kinds of families, from all kinds of backgrounds, with many different needs.
Referrals
A referral from Child Safety Services is required for this program. Referrals to this program from Child safety require consent to engage from the child/young person and their legal guardian; and that the young person has a stable placement and is not in need of crisis care.
